Can we rant about techpb trends here?

Wow, some people on techpb are just looking for a fight and wont let things go. I simply asked a poster to elaborate on why they would choose midbore over under or overbore and he goes ape shit on me. telling the op generalized opinion with out a reason helps no one learn.

"i like 683 barrel backs. there is no difference between under or over bore. anything from 679 to 693 is acceptable."

then when i call him out, he says "oh as long as you're paint to bore matching, you're good." That's all he had to post and i wouldn't have had any beef with it. I dislike strong generalization with out a reason.

I hate when kids try to argue a point without much evidence. If your'e going to convince me to come over to your side and set my gear up the way you do, you better have damn good reasons for me to change everything in my gear bag.

I know what I like because Iv'e spent six years figuring it out. Some kid who's been playing for six months and thinks he knows everything because his mini (or C3) is the best gun evaarr is not going to convince me.

Bugs me even more when they do the same things to newbs; who don't have enough experience to tell whether or not the guy is BS'ing or not.

TPB is becoming over populated with Mike fan boys. No offence to Mike.

The problem is that he gives the noobs the confidence to know that just because they only have an Ion or G3 or something that they are not total retards and bad players. This is fine. However many become over confident that TPB is the all accepting community and everything is ok and everyones nice. This over confidence leads them to think they know more about paintball than they actually do. Many of these kids have been put down again and again on PBN and other places so when they go to TPB they feel like they have more power. From that they follow a natural trend to act towards people the same way that they were the recipient of before. Hence the know it all G3 owner, 5 month brand new player.

1. People who are not professional players should not be so damn picky. You dont need a gun that shoots 40+ balls per second, weighs an ounce, shoots incredibly smooth, and gets 50K shots a fill. More than likely you're playing the fat slow walkons on sundays lol.
2. While Mike is right about some things I think his interest have shifted via the all mighty pocket book. For instance watch his video about the nerve board then watch his video reviewing all the guns he supposedly hates. This starts trends, and noob trends are bad because generally that means more tippmans, ions, and other cheap guns instead of higher end guns.
3. Everyone on techpb thinks they are a fucking engineer, when in fact not one single person on that board is that has been out spoken about it. Testing in a limited funds enviroment can only portray certain elements of the given specimen. The main people argueing are an English teacher, a guy who spends a lot of time in his garage, and a guy who makes youtube videos. What's funny is they are argueing about quantum physics reference that had nothing at all to do with my post. This is annoying to those of us with degrees.
4. Fan boys: Techpb has too many.

the thing is, there's mike fanboyism and then there's mod fanboyism. take stick for example. who the fuck takes writing on the forums seriously? potentious arrogant people do, who nit picks at people's use of colliqualisms and spelling. so the dude used an old term that's not definition wise correct, but we understand what he meant. totally derailed your thread. If it was anyone else, they would have gotten a warning and banned, but because it's stick, you can't touch techpb mods for trolling yet we get shit on for trolling.

i got into a fight with stick because i said i'm kind of offended about vietnam war reanactment scenario games where people dress up like the viet cong and stuff. being vietnamese and having family members die in the war that's fairly recent, it hit home. I said i just wont go to those scenarios. but stick goes on about freedom of speech saying that i do'n thave the right to complain because of the constitution or some stupid ass shit. I'm like whoa whoa whoa, i simply stated my opinions and the constitution of america does not apply to me because i'm a canadian citizen. i have my own constitution to follow so don't shove your patriotism down my throat. but people backed stick's side using his fancy university style english on an internet forum, dancing around insults and putdowns flaming me "with big words" like he always does.

Stick generally is nice to me, but I must say in that thread they were both correct or incorrect depending on how you look at it.

A quantum leap is a very small jump to the next hybrid energy level, but for an electron it takes lots of energy and could be consider a large jump. Either way that was dumb.

I dislike when people in an unrelated field bring up a topic neither understand.

I like some of the people on techpb. like orange and the bst mods, it's some of the "inner circle" people that's really mucking up the system. I've talked to willie and he's a cool guy too. And i'm going to be meeting up with them at the Canadian big game.

It's just that people are abusing mod privileges and we call them out on it but we're just regular users. we mean absolutely shit to them.

Honestly if i wasn't for our group techpb would have a lot less traffic
if you look on the daily post ratings we're usually the top 10 or so posters

And theres a trend on there where players are buying pumps to "save money" so they go out and buy a $250+ pump and sell it because pump isn't their thing. I haven't even mustered up the courage to spend $200+ on a marker.

I think it's not fair to really point out the US tax usage but rather, you need to consider how the states use tax. The government gives states money for infrastructure, and the states are allowed to do whatever with that money.

Ever been to detroit? Car canyons do exist. It's not a matter of how the US government fixes your local area but the local and state governments not giving a fuck.

There are countless accounts of people having issues with their brand new G4 and people are blind by the fact that they bought a shitty gun. There's sooooo many G4 owners that the moment you post anything negative about it, they jump all over your ass.

Ohhhh and then there's the Anti-Extcy squad. They bash us G4 "haters" for being on the recommend Extcy bandwagon. They are simply joining on the hate extcy because everyone else keeps recommending it bandwagon.

Beginners are often not comfortable with used markers so shoving it down their throats is just going to scare them. You let them buy a decent first new marker and then if they decided to invest more money, then they can look into a better used marker.

I like sticks videos, but I dislike his, "I know everything" attitude he displays in the forums. Especially when it comes to music... I've seen several music threads where he will post something just to get a response or to start something with another member. I've been into it with him before in one of these music threads and he deleted the thread because people were siding with me and against him.

Never really witnessed DRG... Name Doesn't sound familiar to me.

I think my biggest problem with TechPB is the Axe craze. You can't enter a "what should I get" thread without 10 people recommending the axe lol.
